What Kind Of Food Is Available?

There are all kind of food available but not as much as the truly Ghanaian dishes like the fufu with palm nut soup, banku with Okro soup, beans with fried plantain (red red), rice with the usual tomato stews, chicken, fish, yam with kontobre stew, rice and beans with the usual black pepper as shitor etc. However these are all prepared under very good and hygienic conditions.

When Should I Start A Project & When Should I Apply ?

Project starts two days after arriving in Ghana and there are no definitive deadlines for application. Please apply as soon as you’ve decided what you want to do. The longer the notice, the more we can see how best you can have a successful project.

What Do Our Charges Include ?

Our costs include food, accommodation, and compensation for host families, outreach and support from our expert volunteers. Our charges are important because they enable us to provide you with a good service and full support.

What Qualifications Do I Need ?

No qualifications are necessary to handle any of our projects. However you are still welcome if you should have any.

What Do I Gain From This Program ?

The project is an excellent opportunity to combine adventurous foreign travel with a worthwhile job. As well as gaining experience that looks brilliant on your CV, you will improve your transferable skills such as team-working, presentation and communication.

What Vaccinations Do I Need ?

In Africa, malaria is the major problem; volunteers are highly encouraged to get a malaria vaccine before leaving for Ghana. NMH Projects suggests that you consult a travel doctor from your country before you depart. Volunteers are recommended to immunize for Hepatitis A, B, Typhoid and polio (NOTE: Some vaccinations are needed as much as 1-2 months before arrival in Ghana).

Things To Carry Along ?

Laptop, Digital cameras, Torch, lamps, Toilet rolls & soaps, Walking boots-trainers Candies and Chocolates for children, Sandals, sneakers, one pair of nice shoes Sunhat, Sun glasses and sunscreen, Flashlight & spare batteries, Watch , Money Pouch. Towels, Insect repellent, Mini First Aid Kit, Beach wear, IPOD, MP3 etc
